Scarce, particularly Pt 1 on the East Indies. Fine plates printed by Werner & Winter, Frankfurt a.M., some after paintings by E.N. Fischer. Each plate preceded by a leaf with descriptive letterpress. Pagination includes 48 folding tables of Distributions.

Thomas Barbour (1884-1946) was an American herpetologist. His scientific travels took him to many parts of Central and South America, Asia and Africa. From 1927 until 1946, he was director of the Museum of Comparative Zoology at Harvard College. A very good copy.
