Condition

8vo, cont. half leather, marbled boards, raised bands to spine; rubbed/scuffed, some wear to extemities. Conteporary manuscript note to foot of several pages (ink and pencil), one on specimens of R. esculenta sent from Foulness, July 1845, and several on various newt species observed at Gran[t]chester gravel pits, 1841. Original owner's signature (dated 1838) and printed ownership label to endpaper: G. Edmund Paget, Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge.
