Description:

First edition. Scarce. William Henry Ward (1865-1924) was the grandson of Edward Ward and son of William Ward who were both successively vicars of Iver from 1803 to 1889. He was an architect by profession and was assistant to Sir Edwin Lutyens between 1895 and 1898. The book remained unfinished at the time of Ward's death and was completed by K.S. Block.

Vg in d/w (d/w spine sunned, chipped to head of spine, minor wear to corners; in removable protective sleeve). Edges foxed. Publisher's printed presentation book-plate to endpaper. Vg.
