Journals of Nautalist and Physician John Richardson, member of the ill fated first Franklin expedition into the Arctic would come to be known as the Coppermine Expedition (1820-1822) which aimed to explore the northern coast of Canada by way of the Coppermine River. During the many tribulations and deprivations of the journey, Richardson kept his journal - which includes a record of the flora and fauna of north Canada and a detailed historical and scientific record of the expedition. Appendices includes: Bird Observations by John Richardson during the First Franklin Expedition; Mammal Observations by John Richardson during the First Franklin Expedition: Fish Collected by John Richardson during the First Franklin Expedition; Plants Named by and for John Richardson and John Richardson's Contribution to Lichenology.
