1st edition, 1st state dust jacket with price £3.50 printed on inner flap (later variants of d/w are unpriced). 'Hooper' is misspelt 'Hopper' on the spine of the book, which is corrected in later impressions.

8vo, orig. green buckram, top corners slightly bumped. Light browning endpapers. Small ownership label to front pastedown. Good in d/w (in orig. duraseal protector, which has caused the top edge of the front panel to turn over by a few mm; spine slightly faded).
