2nd edition, revised and enlarged. With 26 engraved hand-coloured plates by G.B. Sowerby. The author of this edition, George Brettingham Sowerby III (1843-1921), was the son of the author of the first edition of this work (1859), George Brettingham Sowerby II (1812-1884). This edition has two additional plates.

Condition
4to, orig. red cloth, gilt tilte to front board, aeg, spine faded and marked, old damp stains to corners and edges of boards with corresponding stains to corner of endpapers, pages at beginning/end, as well as to the final 5 plates (remaining plates largely clean). Endpapers damaged with maginal tear to front endpaper.
