These two volumes comprise of entries from Margaret Fountaine's diaries interspersed with comments and accounts from the editor. Margaret Elizabeth Fountaine (1862–1940) was an English lepidopterist, traveller & explorer, whose passion for butterflies took her around the world, venturing intrepidly into remote areas of the Middle East, Africa, the Americas, Australia, and more. For much of the way she was accompanied by Khalil, her loyal Syrian lover, and a fellow butterfly enthusiast.

2 vols. Vg in d/w's (one spine faded). From the library of Dr. W.G. Tremewan, with a copy of his book review for 'Entomologist's Gazette' (of which he was editor) loosely inserted.
