This field guide contains all 874 species of macromoth occurring naturally in Britain and Ireland. They are listed in a new systematic order and classified using the most recent nomenclature adopted throughout mainland Europe. Several new species are listed as British.

All species are photographed in their natural resting position enabling determination in the field to species level for the vast majority of species. Some photos of larvae are also included.

All species also illustrated as mounted specimens, natural size.
