Cont. half leather, worn, boards and spine detached. Light marginal water staining to top edge of plates and corner of text leaves. Foxing to preliminaries. Book plate of Sir George Henry Scott Douglas (1825-1885), 4th Baronet of Springwood Park, Kelso, Member of Parliament and an army officer. Books from his library were sold at Sotheby’s in London 25-27 July 1938. Also with the book-plate of the Scottish Conservative Club Library, which records that this copy was presented by Douglas in 1884.
