A scarce classic monograph on the fossil cephalopods (ammonites, belemnites and nautili) from the western Indian province of Kutch (Kachchh, Kachh), published in Palaeontologia Indica, New Series, Vol. IX, No. 2. Good quality collotype plates, printed by Zinco Collotype Co., Edinburgh. Leonard Frank Spath (1882 1957) was a British geologist specialising in malacology and ammonites, He was an assistant curator at the British Museum (Natural History). He was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Society, London in 1940 and his certificate of election refers to this 'important' work.
Condition
6 vols in 3, 4to, modern cloth with orig. printed wrappers (some torn with loss) bound in. Some wrappers inscribed by author. Old stain to title page and first few pages of Pt IV. A few marginal tears, repaired. Vg.
