J. Wilfrid Jackson (1880-1978) was a British conchologist, archaeologist and geologist. He was a leading member of the Conchological Society. Several papers on ‘ethno-conchology’, which he published in 1916 in the Memoirs and Proceedings of the Manchester Literary and Philosophical Society, were the basis for this book.
