Large-8vo, orig. cloth, spine slightly faded. Vg. Oleg Polunin's copy, with his name to endpaper. O. Polunin (1914-1985) was an English botanist and traveller. He produced a series of field guides to the flora of Europe. Polunin pioneered the use of small cameras and colour film for flower illustration. He also, in his concise floras, pioneered the use of symbols for flower form, habitat, and geographical distribution.
