Description:

First edition, seventh thousand (corrected). This issue has a four-line footnote at the end of the introduction, by F[rancis] D[arwin], (Charles Darwin's son) which refers to some work of P.E. Müller's which his father had been told about but had not seen at the time of his death. Charles Darwin died in April 1882. Darwin had himself seen and corrected the sixth thousand which was published earlier in 1882.

Freeman 1364.
