An attempt to give some description of the physical geography, botany, zoology, anthropology, languages and history of the territories under British protection in East Central Africa, between the Congo Free State and the Rift Valley and between the first degree of south latitude and the fifth degree of north latitude. Second and cheap edition, with prefatory chapter giving additional matter. Coloured plates by the author, illustrations and photographs by the author and others.
Condition
2 vols, roy. 8vo, orig. cloth, a few marks, some wear to head/foot of spines and top of rear joint of one volume, corners bumped, slight impression to top of front board of Vol. I with corresponding crease to cloth; inner hinges cracked, but quite firm. Ownership signature of R.H. [Rosemary] Lowe (1921-2014), fish biologist, who worked on Tilapia in Uganda and helped found the East Africa Fisheries Research Laboratory.
