Illustrated by pictures from photographs by Cherry Kearton. The brothers Richard (1862-1928) and Cherry Kearton (1871-1940 were some of the world's earliest wildlife photographers. The preface to this important work states that is 'an account of our adventures and observations whilst wandering up and down the British Isles. Of particular note are the three chapters on the island of St. Kilda, its people, birds and fowlers.

8vo, orig. dec. cloth, slightly worn. Slightly shaken, one gathering starting. Good. From the library of Keith Hyatt (d. 2021), acarologist at the Natural History Museum, London, and prominent member of the London Natural History Society, with his signature to endpaper.
