The author states: 'As so little is known of this very interesting and distant part of the world, I have been tempted to put into a more permanent form the notes of my diary during a trip through Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador as I wish to show that these three countries are not the deserted and savage places they are generally credited with being.'

8vo, orig cloth, bevelled boards, gilt, wear to head and foot of spine. Good. From the Bradford Library & Literary Society with traces of shelf number to spine and label to endpaper, otherwise unmarked internally.
