First edition. Scarce. Include memoirs of Schomburgk and Burckhardt with accompanying engraved portraits. The contents list of Vol. I includes plate 24, which according to the erratum 'by mistake, there should not have been a Plate XXIV referred to in the Text and Contents, there having been given two plates XXV instead.' In addition to bis plate 24, there's also bis plate 30 to the first volume.

2 vols, sm. 8vo, orig. cloth, spines faded, small labels to spines. Vol. I: rear joint partly worn/split, chipping with some loss to spine, rear hinge slack. Vol. II: minor wear only. Plates bright and clean.
