Cornelius Chyzer (1836-1909) was a medical doctor with an interest in natural history and was a member of many important Hungarian medical and scientific organisations. He acted as an advisor to the Ministry of Health in the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Wladyslaw Kulczynski (1854-1919) was Professor of Zoology at the University of Cracow, and member of the Academy of Science of Cracow. He was one of the great arachnologists of his time

4to, half morocco, raised bands, gilt rules to spine, marbled endpapers, teg. A few plates browned. Marginal tape repair to one leaf. Fine copy in a handsome binding. As usual paper browned. Original wrappers bound at rear.
