The author recalls the day-to-day events, the activities and the emotions of a Worcestershire family, centered in Stourbridge, through family diaries, letters, journals and reminiscences. It is mainly centred on the two generations before his own. The title is inspired by the author's grandmother, Isabel Evers, one of the book's chief characters, who in her diary entries each spring, recorded 'gave camphor to the butterflies', of which she had a fine collection.

Large 8vo, orig. cloth, light staining/fading to rear cover; occasional light foxing. Good in worn d/w (in removable protective sleeve).
