Description:
This field guide features more than 120 species, 34 are found throughout the Philippines while 86 species are found in some of the islands but not throughout the country. The guide is organized by family with notes and distribution for each species. The excellent colour photos show dorsal and ventral pictures of each species.
Most specimens were collected in Negros Island, so the descriptions on preferred habitat types and ranges of each species are based from Negros Island, which can be used in other neighboring islands for comparison. This field guide was the product of Badon's Master’s Thesis at the University of Florida (McGuire Center) and it is currently used by butterfly gardeners and photographers in some parts of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
