This book introduces the classification of butterflies in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The content consists of two parts: a general overview and a specific section. The general introduction introduces Tibet's natural geographic environment, different climate regions, the floristic composition of Tibetan butterflies, and the history of butterfly research in Tibet. It provides an overview of the main identification features, biological characteristics, host plants, the relationship between butterflies and humans, butterfly resource conservation and utilisation, and the Tibetan naming system. The specific sections systematically record 45 species of butterflies of the family Papilionidae, 25 species of Parnassiidae, and 71 species of Pieridae distributed in Tibet, totalling 141 species. Each stage and species involved is described in detail, with records of the original source, main identification features, distribution and host, as well as adult specimen photos, images of male genitalia, habitat, and geographic distribution maps.
