Text English. Insect catalogues are an important core component of insect taxonomy and systematics. They contain a wealth of biological information and are valuable for guiding biodiversity research. China is vast and rich in biological diversity. Leaf beetles (Chrysomelidae) are one of the most species-rich groups of beetles (Coleoptera). However, there has not yet been a systematic compilation of their catalogue. Based on many years of work by domestic colleagues and existing zoological catalogues, the editors systematically reviewed and organised the genera and species of the families Megalopodidae and Chrysomelidae within the superfamily Chrysomeloidea that are distributed in China, resulting in this volume.

This book covers 15 subfamilies, 372 genera, and 12 subgenera of the Chinese Megalopodidae and Chrysomelidae. The catalogue is organised by subfamily. Within each subfamily, genera are arranged according to their systematic classification, while species within each genus are listed alphabetically. Species numbering is continuous within each subfamily. Because the literature for the two families overlaps, all references are compiled into a single bibliography.

This book serves as a reference for insect taxonomy, systematics, and biodiversity research, and is also intended for teachers, students, and scientific and technical personnel in related fields.
