This illustrated catalogue showcases mineral specimens offered by the renowned Foote Mineral Company, founded in Philadelphia by Dr. Albert Edward Foote (1846–1895), a nationally recognized mineralogist and prominent mineral dealer. Dr. Foote built one of the largest and most successful mineral businesses of his time. After his death, the company was taken over by his son, Warren Mathews Foote, who gradually shifted its focus toward industrial applications.
The catalogue was available in three binding options: semi-flexible cloth, cloth boards, or flexible leather.
Condition
8vo, orig. grey cloth, title in black to spine and front board. Vg. Loosely inserted are four pieces of Foote Company ephemera: a small poster offering a mineral collection for schools in exchange for quantities of minerals collected from a U.S. state; a price list dated March 1910; a leaflet advertising American Rocks; and a pamphlet advertising mineral display mounts.
