Description:
Provides clarification on the Brazilian cone shells diversity - the number of recognised species has risen from 15 to 90 in the last 50 years. There are many similar small species, leading to a risk of possible synonymies. In this book the authors present the full range of Brazilian species with more than 800 illustrations, together with new information not found in previous publications; detailed species descriptions provide a full understanding of the variation found within each species. With 13 genera, the diversity of Brazilian cones is only starting to be understood, as the Brazilian Atlantic Ocean coastline extends for 7500 km, with many different ecological conditions, from subtropical Rio Grande do Sul to equatorial Ampá, and depth from intertidal to 300 metres.
