First edition. Vera Charlesworth Barclay (1893-1989) was an early pioneer of the scouting movement, co-founding the cub scouts in 1916, and advocate for female leadership in global scouting. She authored many books for children, both fiction and on scouting topics. She was also a dedicated creationist catholic, and an outspoken critic of Darwinian theory, and theistic evolutionary ideas. She wrote several books on the topic with Darwin is not for Children being an argument against both the theory of evolution and its teaching in schools.
