Rare. Text French. Henri-Marie Ducrotay de Blainville (1777-1850) was a French doctor and naturalist, professor of zoology and comparative anatomy at the faculty of Sciences in Paris. Illustrations by the Swiss-French artist Jean-Gabriel Prêtre, (1768-1849).
This volume contains the plates for 'Vers' (= worms) (1-48) and 'Zoophytes' (49-116). The complete work consisted of 60 Tomes and 61 Cahiers.

8vo, cont. half calf, rubbed/scuffed, leather title piece to spine, marbled boards, edges and endpapers. Some browning to page margins. Some foxing. Occasional marginal pencil annotations to plates.
