This volume contains introductory chapters which provide information for each family on biology, ecology, distribution, etc. Identificatin keys enable identification of adults to genus level (344 genera) through identification keys supplemented with clear line drawings and colour photos of living insects.
(A second part is also available separately (Die Wanzen Deutschlands II, 2025) which contains colour photographs and line drawings for all 850 species known from Germany, complemented by species profiles with information on the biology, ecology and threats, as well as distribution maps.)
