Description:

Text Chinese, scientific names in Latin. This series is a summary of the research findings from the National Science and Technology Basic Resources Survey Project "Survey of Harmful Insect Diversity in Major Grassland Areas (No. 2019FY100400)". From 2019 to 2023, five years of investigation and research yielded a series of results, which, after careful review and summarisation, have been compiled into three volumes: . Ecological Atlas of Grassland Insects in China (Coleoptera); Ecological Atlas of Grassland Insects in China (Lepidoptera, etc.); and Ecological Atlas of Grassland Insects in China (Orthoptera). This volume includes 146 insect species from major grassland areas in my country, comprising 66 species from 15 families of Lepidoptera, 45 species from 17 families of Hemiptera, 14 species from 6 families of Diptera, 12 species from 9 families of Hymenoptera, 4 species from 3 families of Neuroptera, 4 species from 3 families of Odonata, and 1 species from 1 family of Mantises. Each species is provided with its taxonomic position, distribution range, morphological characteristics, and biological characteristics/damage caused, along with one or more ecological photographs, all original photographs taken by the authors. For more than half of these species, the types of plants they feed on are provided, and some are also important grassland pests; therefore, this book will provide a reference for the identification of grassland pests and the control of important pests.
