Description:

Text Slovak. The oldest data on the occurrence of cockroaches in the territory of present-day Slovakia date back almost 200 years. By now, a large amount of mainly faunal data has accumulated, which needed to be summarized and critically evaluated. Only then could a monographic treatment of cockroaches be created.

The presented work, due to its scope and its mission, is not a complete summary of knowledge about this interesting group of insects. The effort was to provide a clear description of the entire order Blattaria and, in the systematic part, to summarize and enrich the previous knowledge about cockroaches living in the territory of Slovakia.

Snahou bolo podať prehľadnú charakteristiku celého radu Blattaria a v systematickej časti zhrnúť a obohatiť doterajšie poznatky o šváboch žijúcich na území Slovenska.]
