Description:

First edition, undated (British Library states 1928 for 4to edition - there was also a small 8vo edition). Plates mounted on grey card. Illustrated by Barbara Briggs, F.Z.S. Eleanor E. Helme (1887-1967) was an accomplished golfer, member of the English 1911-1920 Womens international golf teams, and member of the Association of Golf Writers (AGW). She also wrote a series of natural history books for younger readers, including the 'Feathered Friends' series.

Condition

4to (295x240mm), orig. cloth-backed boards with colour plate inset to front board; edges uncut, 12.5cm closed tear to one leaf, three further leaves with outer margin cropped with no loss to text (one also with 6cm closed tear). A little light marginal foxing. Good.
