Occasional light spotting/foxing to text. 27 of the coloured plates have Latin names added in ink to top or bottom margins in a contemporary hand. A handsome copy with fine hand-coloured plates of insects.

Provenance: Bookplate of William Bree (1822-1917), Rector of Allesley. Also with the armorial book plate of Henry Perkins, Springfield, Surrey. Perkins (c.1777-1855) was a noted bibliophile who established a large personal library between 1827 and 1830. He was elected a fellow of the Linnean Society in 1825, and was also a fellow of the Geological Society and Horticultural Society of London.
