Text French. Published as a guidebook for delegates of the 17th International Geological Congress, held in Leningrad (St. Petersburg) who were visiting the Mining Museum. Founded in 1773 the Museum is one of the world's finest museums for geology, mining and metallurgy.

Small 8vo (197x140mm), orig. cloth; endpapers browned. Withdrawn from an instiutional library with some neat ink stamps. Good. Signature of K.P. Oakeley to endpapers. Kenneth Page Oakeley (1911-1981) was an English physical anthropologist, palaeontologist and geologist.
