Description:

Text French. Guide illustré de la Flore de Vanoise is an illustrated guide designed by the teams of the Vanoise National Park. It is very accessible and easy to use enabling everyone to identify the plants most regularly encountered in the Vanoise. 450 species are covered with abundant illustration and short descriptions as well as notes on ecology, history of naming, traditional uses, folklore etc.

The Vanoise massif is known for its magnificent landscapes, its glaciers and the richness of its natural heritage. There are more than 1700 wild plants there, i.e. a third of the flora of France on less than 0.5% of the national territory!

This exceptional diversity is explained by the variety of natural environments, themselves linked to variations in altitude and exposure, as well as the nature of the geological substrate. It is in Vanoise that the most important processions of arctic-alpine plants are found with species such as Carex glacialis, Juncus arcticus and Tofieldia borealis.
