Hoverflies of the Fylde: An Annotated Checklist

Brings together and summarise all known records of hoverflies (Diptera, Syrphidae) in the Fylde area (defined here as a 500 km² area in the southwestern part of West Lancashire in North-West England). It seeks to raise the profile of hoverflies locally and to identify gaps in our knowledge of the distribution of species to target future recording efforts.

Although this book is not intended to be an identification guide, to encourage more than a passing interest and to help with recording, several photographs of species which are commonly encountered and/or easily identifiable in the field are included with the species accounts.
