Illustrating the Redecoration of the Chapel. The Royal Naval College, Greenwich
- Publisher : Royal Naval College
- Illustrations : 3 colour plates
Description:
This work commemorates the post-war redecoration of the Royal Naval College Chapel at Greenwich, originally designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in the 18th century. It documents the restoration carried out under the auspices of the Ministry of Works, necessitated by blast damage sustained during the Second World War. This restoration formed part of a wider effort to preserve Britain’s architectural heritage in the wake of wartime destruction. A scarce and important record of mid-20th-century heritage conservation, of particular interest to students of Wren architecture, wartime reconstruction, and ecclesiastical interiors.
