Text Italian. Enrico Hillyer Giglioli (1845-1909) was an Italian zoologist and anthropologist. Under his direction important dredgings were undertaken of the Mediterranean seabed from the Italian steamer, ‘Washington’ in 1881, under the command of Commander G.B. Magnaghi of the Italian navy. This survey revealed new information about abysmal fauna.
