Description:
Text French. This book is a comprehensive resource on the insects of the Loiret region, and particularly on the Pentatomoides group of true bugs. These insects generally have a bad reputation with the public, but they are terribly misunderstood. A total of 66 species has been recorded in the department. Among them, 8 have not been mentioned for over thirty years. All the species are presented here, providing as much information as possible on their biology, ecology, activity period, and known distribution. Contemporary data allows us to understand specific frequencies at the departmental level and thus highlight the rarest species. Exotic or expanding populations of true bugs are also discussed. Species of conservation concern are emphasised to ensure better consideration of biodiversity in land-use planning and management. Finally, this book will allow non-specialists to become familiar with these true bugs, often with aesthetically pleasing shapes and colours, and with captivating habits.
A definitive reference work featuring:
* A comprehensive overview of historical and contemporary wildlife in the region
* A synthesis of over 6,000 observations in the Loiret region
* The result of 5 years of analysis, illustration, and writing
66 species covered and illustrated, 58 contemporary species and 8 species not seen for at least 30 years.
