The first part of the work compromises "Notes from the Zoo", the second part on London Birds being the result of personal observations during his "Almost daily walk from Kensington to Westminster through the parks". The final section comprises Appendices, including one on the birds of the Farne Islands.

Small 8vo, orig. green cloth, gilt vignette and title to front board, bevelled edges, patterned endpapers. Withdrawn from the Y.M.C.A. Red Triangle Library with a few ink stamps to endpapers and title only, otherwise clean. Small spot to margin of last few pages. A good, bright copy.
