An illustrated guide to the adult stages of the ‘neuropteroid’ insects of Europe. Includes the Plecoptera (stoneflies), the super-order Neuropterida (Neuroptera, Megaloptera, Rhaphidioptera), Trichoptera (caddisflies), and Mecoptera (scorpionflies).

Approximately a thousand species are meticulously illustrated and described, including details of their biology and habitats. Particular emphasis is placed on orders with aquatic larvae. In certain cases, illustrations of the genitalia for the relevant species are provided.
