From The Quarterly Journal of the Geological Society Vols. lxviii (1912); lxxiii pt.2 (1918); lxxxii pt.4 (1926). Three papers by Jane Longstaff (1855-1935), a British Malacologist and Geologist who was an early expert in Palaeozoic gastropods. Her studies of fossil gastropods led to a large-scale taxonomic revision. Despite this, as a woman she could not be officialy affiliated with or employed by any major museums. She travelled throughout Britain and abroad to study specimens. She was the second woman to be awarded the Geological Society of London's Murchison Fund (1898).
