Description:
There are only three species known in this family, all in genus Periegops. These rare spiders have only ever been found in relict forests at limited locations in New Zealand and in Queensland, Australia. Two of these species are known from New Zealand (one newly described). The genus and both species are here described or redescribed, with information on synonymy, type data, material examined and geographical distribution. Identification key and illustrations of habitus and morphological features.
