Description:
Text Spanish. A practical account of the principal insect pests associated with traditional agricultural crops in Mexico. For each species or pest group the work provides notes on identification, biology and habits, host relationships, characteristic damage, and methods of field inspection and sampling. Particular attention is given to economically important phytophagous insects, including leafhoppers, Heteroptera, Diabrotica spp., aphids and lepidopterous larvae, together with discussion of pest outbreaks, geographical distribution and the factors that may cause normally minor species to become locally abundant. Intended primarily for students of agronomy, entomologists and field inspectors, and designed as a practical aid to the recognition, assessment and study of crop pests in Mexico.
