- Publisher : Sailor Vernon
- Published In : London
Description:
A run of 15 issues of this scarce British blues periodical, comprising Nos. 1 and 4-16, including the supplementary issue 16a. An independently published magazine combining blues and rhythm and blues research with record sales lists and auction catalogues, offering 78 rpm records, 45s and LPs, alongside articles, reviews, travel accounts, cartoons and humorous parodies. Published by the blues enthusiast, record dealer and researcher Paul ‘Sailor’ Vernon, the magazine became a distinctive feature of the British blues collecting scene of the late 1970s and early 1980s. Its characteristic blend of serious discographical research, specialist record listings and irreverent humour established its reputation among collectors. It ceased publication in 1984, when Vernon went on to establish Blues & Rhythm.
A substantial run of this sought-after specialist blues publication.
