First edition. Scarce. Notes on the wildlife of Nottinghamshire. Joesph Whitaker (1850-1932) was a dedicated naturalist, ornithologist, sportsman, and natural history collector, whose home, Rainworth Lodge, was known for its huge collection of specimens and trophies as well as the exotic animals he kept on the property, including several emus.

Condition

8vo, orig. red dec. cloth, vignette of a White Park Bull to front board, white title to spine, lettering slightly rubbed. Some minor foxing. Vg.
