Description:
The Ningbo University Museum of Marine Biology currently houses approximately 5,000 specimens of molluscs and bivalves from 1,000 species. This catalogue includes 452 of these species. The general section of the book introduces the main characteristics, living habits, and economic value of bivalves, discusses the bivalve classification system, and provides a taxonomic index down to the family level. The individual sections provide information on each specimen by family, including its Chinese name, synonyms, origin, and size, accompanied by clear colour photographs. To facilitate searching, the book includes both Chinese and Latin name indexes.
