Description:
This new book looks at changes which have taken place in the dragonfly fauna of Suffolk since Howard Mendel's 'Suffolk Dragonflies' (1992). Changes in land usage and in water quality have taken place, and the emergence of climate change as a major ecological factor has also had a dramatic impact. Based on fieldwork carried out between 2008-2014, the book confirms that major changes have taken place since 1992, with most species faring well. A number have shown spectacular increases in range and abundance. Eight new species have been recorded, with three of these now breeding (two being recent colonists to Britain). In contrast to these increases, just a few species seem to be doing less well.
