Description:
A guide to the creation of bird-friendly gardens. 'This booklet will scarcely interest those happy people who own acres of woodland, moor or fields, and in whose grounds, as in those of Mr Darcy at Pemberley, "a stream of some natural importance was swelled into greater, but without any artifical appearance." The areas of ground which the writer has had in mind are from a fraction of an acre up to about three acres. It is assumed throughout that the bird gardener is completeley bird mad, and that all other considerations go down before the ornithological: but, needless to say, much that is here suggested can be combinded with gardening of the more orthodox type.' - Introductory Note.
