Fine colour reproductions of plates by Edward Lear, including 'Blue & Yellow Maccaw' and 'Red and Yellow Maccaw' from his Illustrations on the Family of Psittacidae, or Parrots', and 'Red-billed Toucan', 'Snowy Owl' and 'Eagle Owl', among others, from illustrations he provided for the various works of John Gould.
Condition
Large folio (555x380mm), orig. cream cloth, red title label to spine and red leather title-panel inset to front cover; light bump to fore-edge of both boards. Some foxing to spine and inner edge of front cover. Small decorative owner's book-plate to front endpaper. Vg in d/w (light rubbing to extremities and along folds, some minor foxing) and orig. card slip-case (a little worn and marked).
