First edition. Natural History of Central Asia Vol. XI, Pt 1 & 2 (Mammals complete). Part of the Scientific reports for the Central Asian Expeditions (Roy Chapman Andrews, Leader) made during the 1920s. These two volumes comprise a substantial survey of the mammalian fauna of China and Mongolia by American zoologist Glover M. Allen (1879-1942), including extensive field observations, taxonomic descriptions, distributional data, and ecological notes, accompanied by detailed maps and illustrations. Produced as part of the Central Asiatic Expeditions series, they remain a significant reference work for zoology, biogeography, and East Asian natural history.
Condition
2 vols, 4to (284x220mm), rebound in buckram. Withdrawn from an institutional library with neat ink stamps at beginning and end of each volume, and to verso of plates. Good.
