The standard edition by E.T. Bennett, thoroughly revised with additional notes by James Edmund Harting. With ten letters not included in any other edition of the work. Illustrated by Thomas Bewick and others. Stereotyped edition. The Harting edition was first published in 1875 by Bickers & Son, and reprinted, with the addition of the ten letters from White to Robert Marsham as an Appendix, several times from 1876. This issue, with the imprint Swann, Sonnenschein to title page has a printed slip tipped in at title page, stating that the book was now published by George Allen & Unwin (Martin gives date as April 1911, but there is no date printed on the slip).
